| | SMS Text Messaging software has been installed so that patients will now be reminded of their appointments 48 hours in advance of their appointment by a text message to their mobile. If no mobile number is available the system will send a voice message to the patients land line phone number. The software will be trialled in February and will be fully operational in March. |

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre has launched a Practice Magazine full of articles and news from the practice with helpful tips for to care your dental health. An incentive competition was also launched. If an existing member of the practice recommends the practice to a friend or even another member of their family and this recommendation results in a new patient being registered with the practice then they would be eligible to enter a free draw for a complimentary Teeth Whitening treatment worth £250.00.
The Dental Centre has grown mainly by "word of mouth" and the practice wishes to reward the loyalty and goodwill of its patients.

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre is now open during lunch hour between 1.00 and 2.00pm on Tuesdays. Patients will now be able to access dental services between 9.00am to 7.00pm on Monday and Tuesday and until 8.00pm on Wednesdays as well on Saturday mornings. The increased opening hours are designed to assist patients in seeing their dentists at more convenient times.

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre is pleased to announce a further extension of its opening hours. The practice will now open until 7.00pm on Mondays and until 8.00pm on Wednesdays. The Dental Centre will Offer General Dental and Hygienist services during the extended opening hours.
The Accrington Road Dental Centre is increasing the opening hours of the practice to more convenient times especially for patients wishing to avoid missing work simply to attend the practice. Patients can now see a dentist late in the evening on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well as Saturday morning.

| | Miss Munira Patel and Miss Kerry Giles have joined the practice as full time dental nurses. The new recruits will increase the number of nursing staff to eight which will help to improve service levels for patients.

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre launched its Referral Clinic to local dental practices. The Dental Centre will now treat private patients referred from other local dental practices and clinicians for private oral surgery, cosmetic treatments and orthodontic referrals. Mrs Jackie James, the visiting Oral Surgeon for the Dental Centre will undertake implant and oral surgery referrals and Dr. Lesley Todhunter will see patients for orthodontic cases for fixed and removable "Clearstep" invisible braces.

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre has revamped the appearance of its building by applying innovative transfer prints to its windows. The prints applied to its front windows allows natural light into its surgeries whilst ensuring complete privacy to its patients. The new window dressings makes a visual impact to passing traffic which easily communicates the presence of the Dental Centre to the local population.

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre has completed its external building refurbishment of its building. The building is over 100 years old and has been spruced up with a new paint job, guttering and pointing which will help to assist promote the practice to the local population.

| | Miss Sabina Ismail has joined the practice as a fully qualified and experienced Dental Therapist. Dental Therapists are able to undertake all of the normal duties of a Dental Hygienist as well as basic dental treatments such as fillings. Miss Ismail will help the practice in reducing waiting times for patients for routine hygiene visits as well as to assist dentists complete treatments faster.

| | The Accrington Road Dental Centre have announced that the Dental Centre will now operate extended opening hours on Wednesday evenings until 8.00pm and on Saturday mornings until 1.00pm. The Dental Centre will offer General Dental and Hygienists services during the extended opening hours.
The Accrington Road Dental Centre aims increase access to dental services for its private customers by gradually rolling out extended opening hours including early mornings, lunch hours and evenings openings as well as weekend cover over the course of the year.
